Our Story
Flagship Events was founded by Gin & Ted Thorp with one clear goal: to bring the world’s most beautiful, handcrafted tents to New Zealand. With extensive experience in the yachting and hospitality industries, Gin and Ted honed their skills working under the highest standards of service and craftsmanship aboard luxury superyachts.
Their global journey led them to the Sperry family on the East Coast of the USA - the original creators of the iconic sailcloth tent. Each Sperry Tent is meticulously handcrafted, from the signature sailcloth canopies to the elegant Spruce centre poles, creating a look that is timeless, airy, and truly unique.
Recognising the perfect partnership, Ted undertook the challenge of bringing Sperry Tents to New Zealand for the first time in 2015. Today, Flagship Events is proud to be the exclusive provider of Sperry Tents in Aotearoa.
